Our Motivation is built upon a passion for God’s Glory
“God’s passion for His name and His glory is the supreme reason for His actions in the world… God’s passion for His own glory does not lessen the fact that he loves us; in fact, it strengthens the concept of His love for us. God’s passion for His name should be our central motivation for world evangelization. God is not receiving the worship that is due to His name; therefore, God is calling out worshippers from among the nations, and he’s doing it through the witness of the church. Every church in every follower of Jesus Christ is called to participate in this global activity.”

Understanding God’s passion for His name and glory allows us, as a church body, to align ourselves in God’s Word in His world. Hinkletown Mennonite Church’s Missions Convictions reveals and prioritizes our values as revealed in God’s word to “call out worshippers from among the nations.”
Strategy and Values
Our strategy and values in missions can be simplified by 4 categories:
To walk beside our members as missionary candidates by intentionally preparing them through a preparatory discipleship process.
“and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”

To work closely with missions organizations that are like-minded and align with our theology and philosophy of ministry which includes but not limited to a high value of the local church, both here and there.
“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function.” Romans 12:4
Our preferred Partners are:
To spread the gospel to those who have yet to hear the gospel, to Unreached People Groups (UPG’s).
An Unreached People Group is a people group within a geographical area that is separated physically, culturally, or by language that has a lack of access to the gospel and has no viable indigenous church.
Why should UPG’s be prioritized? Because they aren’t:
“Yet just 3-5% of all missionaries and 1 penny of every dollar given to missions go to the 42% of the planet who have never heard the story of Jesus.” -Café 1040
To align ourselves as much as possible to the New Testament model of discipleship leading towards church planting which produces sustainable local reproducing church bodies.
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds, and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.” -Ephesians 4:11-14
